Japan’s Bizzare Fast Food Products
I love these. When I was living in Tokyo, we had a rotation of backend engineers that would come out from the SF office every once in a while. For one of them in particular, it was his first time out of the country, ever. He subsisted on McDonalds for every meal for two weeks and then headed home.
In his defense, in Tokyo, McDonald’s actually kind of tastes like the pictures on the visual menu (a godsend for our friends who couldn’t read kanji or kana). The big promotion while I was there was for a Kalbi Big Mac. As its name suggests, they took a regular Big Mac and put Korean BBQ on top of it. For something like $14US.
It wasn’t half bad.
